Parents~
Every year at this time there is one thing that is at the forefront of many minds... TAKS!! To prepare, we are spending a little bit of time in class every day on TAKS items in addition to our lesson. Students may also attend tutorials on a volunteer basis with any of the 7th grade math teachers. Tutorials will be held Mon-Thurs after school and Friday and Saturday mornings. Students can check the posters located in math classes or hallways to determine the location of a particular day's tutorials. (mine will be held Tuesdays 3:50-4:45)
Please remember that homework is assigned daily. Please check their agendas and offer your assistance with their math homework. Quiz them whenever possible on their math facts and show them often that math is a part of daily life. You can access the textbook online by using the link below.
This year we are fortunate to have a very valuable tool that helps you (parents) stay informed of the progress your son/daughter is making in all of their classes. If you are not signed up with parent connect, the online tool that lets you view up to the minute grades for your little one, please do so as soon as possible. If you aren't sure how, contact me and I'll lend a hand.
Please note that any time a student makes an unsatisfactory grade (below 70) on an assignment, they are able to retake the assignment for a replacement grade of 70 once they have shown mastery. Students need to attend tutorials within a week of getting the assignment back to make up grades.
