Math First Six WeeksThings to know Math SPIRALS: I will start to grade sprial on November 7, 2008. The Waffle Fest Project is DUE: Nov. 10 (A-Day) & Nov. 11 (B-Day) Make-up Work Policy: Students will have the same number of days missed to make-up all missed out of class assignments. Missed tests will be made up the day the student returns. Missed in-class work will be made up during advisory on the need panda day. If students fail to make-up work within two panda period, the grade will be a zero. Parents will be notified before the second panda period. Late Work Policy: Work is to be completed on time. Therefore, late homework will only be worth 50% of the points. All other work that is turned in late will lose one letter grade or 10 points per school day. After six days the highest grade that can be receive is 25%. Extra Credit Policy: Extra credit will only be given to student with an over all average of 74% or lower at the end of the fourth (4th) week of the six weeks providing he/she does not have more than one missing assignment. Daily Work Assignments Redoes: Any daily work graded assignment that receives a grade below 70% can be redone for a grade no higher than 70%. Proving the work was turn-in on time. Student must redo all incorrect problems on a separate sheet; must show work; must list where and/or what resource the use to aid in finding the correct answer(s). Lastly, staple the old assignment to the top of the redone assignment and place in ‘The Gobbler’ no more than five (5) school days after the assignment is returned. Increasing Low Test : Test grades that are less than 75% can be raised providing he/she does not have more than one missing home work assignment. by redoing all incorrect problems for half the value of the problems. Student must redo all incorrect problems on a separate sheet; must show work; must list where and/or what resource the use to aid in finding the correct answer(s). Lastly, staple the old assignment to the top of the redone assignment and place in ‘The Gobbler’ no more than five (5) school days after the assignment is returned. Weekly Grade Sheet: Grade sheets or a note stating other wise will go home every Friday (or last day of the week), please ask your child for it.
