Cluster 6-1 Language Arts

Welcome to Pershing and to Cluster 6-1 Language Arts.  This year you will be introduced to a new program called Reader/Writer Workshop.  This program will increase your confidence in Reading and Writing. 

This program is student centered and you will have more freedom to choose what you read and what you write about.  You will become more responsible as you finish each task that has been given to you.

Each of you should have your supplies and you should  be reading and writing at home.  You should be reading each night for 30 minutes and you should be completing the writing assignments that have been assigned in class.  Remember to write the page numbers you have read at home in your agenda in order to transfer them to your reading log.  Your reading log should be taped in your literacy notebook. 

Supply List

1 (one )  3-subject spiral notebook

1 (one) composition notebook

3x5 post- it pads (any color)

You may need more notebooks during the year.

Class Declarations

Enter the classroom quietly.

Put your things down and go to the gathering area.

Have your supplies with you when you go to the gathering area.

Respect each other.

Keep classroom clean.

DO NOT WRITE ON FURNITURE!!!
