About Pershing Theatre Arts

By tdrisdal, December 1, 2009

Pershing Middle School is one of the best places to pursue theatre in HISD. Pershing has three performance spaces that are utilized throughout the year in various productions. Our two blackbox theatre spaces are used throughout the year for sixth grade productions and classroom use. The Pershing Auditorium is used for our seventh and eighth grade advanced theatre productions and the annual spring musical. The theatre program is run by Ms. Broadhead and Mr. Drisdale.

Broadhead
Mrs. Brandt Broadhead has taught at Pershing for 11 years. She has a Masters in Fine Arts and enjoys directing and acting. As a member of Pasadena Little Theatre she is usually in one play a year. In addition she has acted, produced and directed original material while living in New York. Our students stay very busy in productions. We do several plays in class and also have a musical class. In addition our advanced classes do a Fall production and all advanced classes do Shakespeare in the Spring.
